AFC Wimbledon celebrate winning the Blue Square South league at te first attempt. Next year: Blue Square premier (aka the Conference).
They beat St Alban's 3-0 on a sunny day in Kingston-upon-Thames, where AFCW currently share with the local natives, Kingstonian.
An odd year for Wombling. Completely randomly, I have managed to see both the first and the final games of the 2008/09 season. Funny old game.

We're not worthy
...I'd happily settle for a scene like this in the afterlife...
...which I suppose would make this guy "God". This is Terry, of Terry's Badges - a hallowed Tortoiseshell institution (by mail order) since 2005, but never seen him in action before.
A nice pair

County map updaate
I got the chance to update my notaboutthenumbers.com geocaching map today. Finally, my solitary cache in Watford earlier this year has been recognised in the form of Hertfordshire turning sky blue on my map (the small county to the north of London, which is dark blue on this map). Next county target has to be Essex, with Kent and Buckinghamshire also in possible striking distance now that the nights are longer.
Oh, and the long overdue first cache in Derbyshire is also on the horizon.
Also look out for some darkening of the blue shades in London, Clwyd, Powys and Gwynedd - and we may not be too far off Dyfed turning red, either...

Pontarfynach
"Pontarfynach: River Capture at the Devil's Bridge" (Earthcache)
Thanks to Dodo the Saxon for letting me bag this one, despite my overlooking of one of the questions. The earthcache was based around the village of Pontarfynach / Devil's Bridge, and based on the geological question of river capture. In this case, the Rivers Ystwyth and Rheidol (which flows to sea at Aberystwyth) "captured" water that was originally part of River Teifi (which meets the sea in Cardigan, 35 miles southwest of Aberystwyth).

Wrong Side of the Bridge
Right Side of the bridge
After five months with virtually no geocaching action, it was good to be back in "cache and dash" mode at the start of what promises to be an exciting spring/summer of geocaching.
Three new caches in my home area - one opposite Parc Y Scarlets stadium, where I would end the evening by going to watch Wales v Luxembourg under 21s.
The other two were on one of the prettyest county boundaries that I know of in Wales - the River Loughor which divides Carmarthenshire from Swansea. In days of yore, the Loughor was all that stood between Maalie and a Sunday tipple.
Here is a travelbug with one the requisite papers to cross the county line.
