First cache in Hertfordshire

"Turntable: Ebury Way series"

First cache in absolutely aeons, came after a miserable game of football between Watford and Swansea - made even more miserable by a slow train ride back into London.

Followers of this blog will know that Hertfordshire commands a special place in the Tortoiseshell folklore, due to a special person -Paul Walters, the Mid Herts Maestro, who passed away on a fateful day early in the life of this blog.

The walk through urban Watford to this cache is actually quite a distant cry from the more rural Mid Herts from where Dr Wally hailed.

For this cache, I had to negotiate the hoards of departing football fans, then walk uneasily through a dimly lit, open park, underneath the eerie spectre of electric pylons. Then through a gulley which had some fly-tipping. When I got there it was an unspectacular nano. Worse still, I had forgotten my biro! Luckily, the cache owner let me claim the find.

Unfortunately, I've just realised that the virus killer on my new 'pooter is not letting through the data from 'itsnotaboutthenumbers.com' so will have to wait a bit to add Hertfordshire to my county map of caches.
