State lines

A brief mention for two of my trackable items which have crossed state lines in the USA.

After a long treck from Ohio to Arizona a few weeks ago, My "75th Find" geocoin (named in honour of my 75th cache find at Tenby in April - icon pictured in this post), moved on to a Christmas geocaching "event cache" in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where it has been discovered by a bunch of people. The geocoin has now racked up over 6,000 miles!

Meanwhile, Tortie the Cat, my signature travelbug, has made the slightly shorter hop from Virginia to the tiny state of Delaware on the eastern seaboard.

"Motorway Mayhem" geocache league table

One of my periodic Google searches for "Tortoiseshell" revealed an interesting surprise today.
Believe it or not, there exists a league table for the number of "Motorway Mayhem" caches visited by every geocacher in the UK. As the name suggests, motorway mayhem caches are located near to motorways.
The league table is run by the Yorkshire Geocaching website.
I'm pleased to say that Tortoiseshell is ranked joint 264 out of nearly 2200 geocachers - i.e. not far off the top 10% in the land. Although not geocaching much at the moment, Tortoiseshell is a mere 10 Motorway cache finds away from the hallowed Top 100 of cachers in this highly specialised geocaching niche...

Small Tortoiseshell

I'm composing this as I cradle Small Tortoiseshell against my chest. Her arrival means that geocache-related blogging will be at a premium, so don't hold your breaths for updates. I am, however, pootling about with my RL blog for the first time in months.
I shall still be updating the progress of trackable items in the sidebar. On this note. honourable mention to my "75th find"coin for crossing the United States as far as Arizona - while most of my others are stagnant around the UK during this general hiatus for geocaching during the winter months.
